New Head of the Brain Tumor Association, and member of the BTC Steering Group

Morten Nielsen, new Head of the Brain Tumor Association, and new member of the BTC Steering Group.

I am 57 years old and live north of Copenhagen. I am married and have 2 adult daughters. In May 2017 I had surgery for a brain tumor, a grade 2 astrocytoma in the right frontal lobe, and a reoperation in October 2018.

Until 2017, I had an international working life at a high level, but I have had to radically change this and now work 2-3 days a week in my own consulting company advising smaller medical technology companies. In addition, I hold various board positions. I am physically active with running.

My motivation for becoming more actively involved in the board work of the Brain Tumor Association is to strengthen awareness of the association and use my and my family’s experiences for the benefit of both patients and relatives. There is so much we can do together for the many families affected by this “unfair” disease.
